Root canal obturation is a crucial step in endodontic treatment, as a significant percentage of treatment failures are due to incomplete obturations. In this context, bioceramic sealers bring a major shift, enabling a sealer-based approach that facilitates the transition from traditional warm gutta-percha techniques to modern cold techniques, while maintaining a high standard of quality.

To fully benefit from these innovative materials, it is essential for clinicians to thoroughly understand them: their physicochemical properties, application limits, and precise clinical indications. This lecture aims to explore these key aspects, allowing participants to effectively integrate bioceramic sealers into their daily practice.

Theoretical Session:

• The role of obturation in endodontic treatment success

• Scientific insights into the functionality of bioceramic sealers

• Comparison between warm and cold obturation techniques

• Benefits, limitations, and clinical indications of bioceramic materials

• Proper clinical application and integration into daily workflows

• Understanding the cold hydraulic condensation technique

Hands-on Session:

• Analysis of obturation techniques: warm vs. cold gutta-percha

• Selecting the appropriate technique based on clinical scenarios

• Demonstration of the lecturer’s experience with the EQ-V system (thermoplastic obturation system)

• Tips & tricks for correct technology use

• Practice of the Single Cone technique with bioceramic sealer

About Dr. Filippo Cardinali:

• Graduated summa cum laude from the University of Ancona (1992)

• President-elect and active member of the Italian Society of Endodontics

• Certified member of the European Society of Endodontology

• Associate member of the American Association of Endodontists

• “Gold” member of Styleitaliano Endodontics

• Author/co-author of 3 reference books in endodontics, translated into over 8 languages

Schedule:

• 09:00 – 13:00 | Theoretical course

• 13:00 – 14:00 | Lunch break

• 14:00 – 19:00 | Theoretical / Practical session
